The Hotel Belmar Pond Inauguration
This January 18th the Hotel Belmar hosted a beautiful event to inaugurate its recently built dock, outdoor bar and concert space with a show by local musician Michelle J. Rodriguez as well as a community BBQ prepared by chef Arturo. Using some of the best ingredients to be found locally, and with the help of some of our local friends (originary from Oklahoma and Texas), chef Arturo prepared a traditional American home style BBQ for our guests.

The event was a great success. The menu included pork ribs, brisket, grilled chicken breast, and grilled vegetables; with sides of fried pickles, cornbread, collard greens, sweet coleslaw and deviled eggs. The food proved to be a delicious breath of fresh air for our guests and local community as this genre of food is rare in Costa Rica.
Meanwhile our new outdoor bar was working hard to keep everyone’s glasses full. From building our signature Cumberland, Four Roses, and Maracuya Royale cocktails to providing Costa Rica craft beer such as Segua, and Libertas or the well known Imperial and Pilsen.
While everyone was filling up and enjoying the weather Michelle J. Rodriguez provided a wonderful set of American Folk music. Her three-piece band consisted of Michelle on vocals and guitar, Robert Dean on lead guitar and Adriana Palma on percussion. Her song selection included originals, contemporary American folk covers and classic American covers such as “Simple Twist of Fate” by Bob Dylan.
The defining moment came, as the sun set behind Michelle and her band, and the community looked on with full stomachs and looks of pure enjoyment and satisfaction on there faces.
It was a great day to be in Monteverde. Thank you for everyone who came to visit us!
